Sajjad Sabur is Chief Investment Officer at Gilini Group where he is responsible for investment strategy, governance and oversight of portfolio companies.
In addition to his role at Gilini, Saj is an advisor to businesses and institutional investors with a particular focus on impact and sustainability. He advises on strategy, business development, management, fund raising, financial structuring and planning.
Prior to 2023, Saj was Managing Director and Head of Direct Investments within the HSBC Private Equity business where he was a member of its global Investment Committee and led its direct investment activity as well as transacting commitments to private equity funds.
Saj served as a Director on numerous Boards and subcommittees in the consumer, technology, manufacturing, natural and agri resources sectors. Saj read Economics BA (Hons), is a qualified accountant and holds an MBA from London Business School.
Russell Tucker is Finance Director and a member of the Investment Committee at Gilini Group, where he oversees the financial operations of the Group, supporting a diversified portfolio that includes real estate, private equity, venture capital, and direct investments.
He is responsible for delivering robust financial reporting and management, supporting strategic decision-making at both the executive and board levels. Russell also contributes to deal evaluation, transaction structuring, and due diligence processes, ensuring the Group’s financial strategy remains aligned with long-term value creation.
Previously, Russell was an investment banking associate advising on M&A, Corporate Strategy, Investor relations and capital raising across the mining and industrial sectors. He also served as CFO in the industrials sector, where he spearheaded financial turnarounds, streamlined operations, and drove performance-led growth.
He holds an MBA with Distinction from Hult International Business School and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), combining transactional expertise with strong financial leadership to support Gilini’s mission of building resilient, high-performance businesses.
Alexie Crassas is Business Portfolio Manager at Gilini Holdings, where he leads value creation across a diverse portfolio of private market investments, operating businesses, and real estate ventures. Drawing on experience as a founder, CFO, and advisor, Alexie specialises in launching, scaling, and optimising businesses with long-term potential.
At Gilini, he works hands-on with founders, executives, and stakeholders to shape strategy, improve operational performance, and deliver sustainable returns. His work spans sourcing and evaluating new investments, advising portfolio companies on governance and growth, and leading special projects that align with the firm’s entrepreneurial and philanthropic ambitions.
Previously, Alexie co-founded and served as CFO of a VC-backed technology business, and led finance and transformation initiatives at Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, and HSBC. This blend of entrepreneurial and institutional experience enables him to navigate complexity, unlock growth, and deliver results across sectors. He is a Fellow of the ICAEW and holds a BA in History from King’s College London.
Alexie also acts as a board and strategic advisor to early-stage ventures aligned with innovation and impact.
As Head of Property, Sim brings a unique blend of empathetic leadership and operational excellence to Gilini Group, with a richly varied background spanning sales, recruitment, and even personal training.
Joining the Gilini Group in 2023 as a Property Sourcer, Sim has embraced Gilini’s values of integrity, creativity, and positive impact.
He quickly advanced to Team Lead for the residential sector, guiding project delivery while maintaining the company’s commitment to “restoring quality” and creating lasting societal benefits.
Today, as Head of Property, he leads across both residential and commercial portfolios—ensuring compliance, maximising returns, and nurturing communities.
Susan leads Legal and Compliance at Gilini Group, working closely with the firm’s leadership to advise on legal and regulatory matters, supporting the execution of its investment strategies, and overseeing the development of governance structures that enable disciplined and scalable growth. Her approach is commercial and solutions‑focused, grounded in ensuring the firm can translate its growth ambitions into durable structures.
Before joining Gilini, Susan built her career across hedge fund, venture capital, and private equity environments, developing a cross-market perspective on investing, business formation, and scale. This blend of institutional experience informs her ability to navigate complexity and drive effective risk management.
Susan holds a law degree from the University of Birmingham and a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge. She also founded and leads an education charity operating in Nigeria.
