Gilini Group's investment in Rulo, Chesham's first dedicated padel and wellness club, reflects its commitment to backing ventures that improve community health and wellbeing. Rulo is a social wellness destination, bringing padel, Pilates and recovery facilities together under one roof. Designed as a community hub, Rulo offers the chance to go hard on the court, then recover with coffee and pastries provided by local vendors.
The partnership began with a shared recognition of a structural gap in the UK sports market. Padel is Britain's fastest-growing sport, with player numbers surging from 15,000 in 2019 to more than 400,000 by the end of 2024, according to the LTA, and a further 8 million adults expressing an interest in trying the sport. Yet court availability remains the single biggest barrier to growth, with demand consistently outstripping supply at clubs nationwide, particularly outside major cities.
Rulo was built to close that gap for the Chilterns. Opening on Asheridge Road on Saturday 13 June 2026, the club features four professional-grade padel courts designed by world-leading court manufacturer Padel Galis, including a dedicated singles court offering greater flexibility for scheduling and play.
Beyond the courts, Rulo has been designed as a space for movement and wellbeing. Reformer Pilates is delivered in small group sessions across beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, with personalised progression tracking and complimentary monthly one-to-one sessions. The club even offers a unique padel-inspired Reformer class using padel rackets and balls. Recovery facilities and a café social space complete a destination where members and visitors can play, train, recover and unwind.
The club will also introduce Baby Padel, a structured programme for children aged 3 to 7 featuring smaller courts and beginner coaching, one of the few junior padel pathways available outside a major city, establishing a grassroots foundation for the sport in the region.
The Gilini Group has supported Rulo through the journey from concept to opening, ensuring the club launches with the infrastructure, partnerships and identity to serve its community for the long term.
Haaris Siddiqui, founder of Rulo, said: "Millions in Britain want to play padel, and most of them can't find a court. We built Rulo to change that for people here, somewhere to play, recover and be active together, without the commute. Chesham deserves that, and we can't wait to bring a state-of-the-art court to the public."
By backing Rulo, Gilini Group has demonstrated its commitment to support businesses that improve local communities, whilst creating long-term value.
Sajjad Sabur, CIO of Gilini, said: "We're delighted to be partnering with Rulo. Encouraging active lifestyles, creating spaces where communities come together, and widening access to one of the world's fastest-growing sports all sit at the heart of Gilini's commitment to investing in health and wellbeing."
